A Mehendi Night is a pre-wedding festival in South Asian cultures where the bride has henna applied to her palms, back of hands, and feet. Mehendi Nights are held the day before the wedding and include a lot of colorful and intricate attire, a ton of food, singing, and choreographed dances. Typically, Mehendhi Nights are reserved only for the girls and ladies of the house only.

Things to Explore

NEARBY HIKES:
  • The Manitou Incline: It's a doozy but well worth it. If you plan to do this hike, be sure you take a lot of water, start real early, and take it one step at a time (literally). This is considered an extreme trail and is an advanced hike! The Manitou Incline gains nearly 2,000 feet of elevation over less than one mile. The Manitou Incline is shy of just 3,000 steps, but who's counting. Learn more at www.visitcos.com.
  • The Garden of the Gods: Step directly into this picture-perfect postcard. This scenic landmark contains countless hikes off the main trails. Garden of the Gods offers dramatic views, 300-food towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies. Learn more at www.gardenofgods.com.
  • Bear Creek Canyon Park: This local favorite is for the active hiker who wants amazing views. At the Jones Park Meadow the trails splits and there are several options to take. Old mining tunnels, waterfalls, bridges—you name it. It’s an adventurer’s paradise. Learn more at www.hikingproject.com.
  • Seven Bridges Trail: Unwind on this semi-moderately difficult six-mile hike. This trail is located in North Cheyenne Cañon and follows a mountain stream and is one of the few cool hikes in the summer, even at mid-day. It offers sloping terrain with bridges over a cascading mountain stream. Learn more at www.manitousprings.org.
  • Mount Muscoco Trail: This nearly 4-mile heavily trafficked out and back trail is located in Cheyenne Mountain and features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until November. Learn more at www.alltrails.com.

FAMILY-FUN ACTIVITIES:
  • Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: The highest-elevated zoo in the country. Learn more at www.cmzoo.org.
  • Seven Falls: Colorado's most majestic waterfall and staircase. Learn more at www.broadmoor.com.
  • Pikes Peak Mountain: Take a guided bus tour up to one of the highest peaks in the country and get the views that inspired Purple Mountains Majesty. Learn more at www.pikespeaktour.com.
  • Colorado Springs Downtown: Get acquainted with a small-town feel in Colorado Spring's quaint downtown. Tour local costume stores, spice shops, and restaurants. Learn more at www.visitcos.com.

Gift Registry

The Gift of Your Presence is Present Enough

We really hope you can join us on our special day.
You'll make our memories unique and complete in every way.
We do not have a gift list as we have all that we need.
We like to travel light and with a lot of speed.
Our tiny New York apartment has limited space.
So, we don't buy knick-knacks that cramp up the place.
Pots and pans we have more than plenty.
From forks to spoons, we have like twenty.
In this great big world, there is much to see.
For us, exploration and wander are key.
With this, we'd like to conclude
By asking for prayers to arm us with fortitude.
So come with big smiles and open hearts.
And, enjoy our wedding celebration in all its parts.
